This study investigates how the health beliefs, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and intentions of expectant male partners in Australia regarding exercise, diet, and alcohol avoidance before conception predict their actual preconception health behaviours.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and disadvantage create barriers to wellbeing and help-seeking. This article explores the behavioural and cognitive implications of FASD for Australian children and adolescents in the justice system and primary, secondary and tertiary crime prevention strategies. There is a clear intersection between FASD, crime and incarceration. FASD includes a range of cognitive, behavioural and neurodevelopmental impairments that increase the likelihood of contact with the justice system. Children and adolescents (10–18 years) with undiagnosed FASD are often misunderstood. Without a diagnosis, opportunities for early intervention to prevent children and adolescents from entering the youth justice system are missed.

This review explores the extensive physical health implications of FASD, emphasising that the effects extend beyond neurological impairments. The paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the whole-body impact of FASD, highlighting the need for a broader perspective in its diagnosis and management.

Using Australian meta-analysis data on prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) prevalence and an international estimate of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) risk, the prevalence of FASD in the Australian general population is estimated to be 3.64% (95% confidence interval 2.91%, 4.41%).

This study surveyed 1,815 alcoholic beverages from 34 stores across 13 European countries between April and August 2024 and found that 31% featured QR codes, primarily on the backs of labels, with most lacking explanation of purpose and directing consumers to brand-promotional, nutritional, ingredient, or health information via age-gated webpages.
