Objective: There is currently a lack of structured and transparent evidence-based processes for developing diagnostic criteria. Using a GRADE-informed approach, we have developed an innovative set of diagnostic criteria for fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).Study Design and Setting: Our research team developed de novo methods for developing guidance for diagnostic criteria, as part of the review and update of the Australian Guide to Diagnosis of FASD.Results: Using adapted evidence-to-decision frameworks, we were able to include or exclude clinical features in the diagnostic criteria for FASD. Application of GRADE principles to diagnostic criteria provided a systematic and clear process for generating recommendations.

This study aimed to understand how the Australian Guide to the Diagnosis of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (2016) is used in practice and identify factors influencing its implementation.

The employment of alcohol and other drug lived and living experience (LLE) workers has increased. Although there is a growing literature on challenges faced by LLE workers, there remains a gap in understanding the unique challenges and facilitators of frontline workers in diverse settings. Additionally, it is unclear what unique barriers are faced by living experience workers.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children with a disability are over-represented in child welfare systems worldwide. Despite this, little is known about their involvement with the Australian child protection system or their lived experiences.

Indigenous women experience a disproportionate burden of adverse perinatal health outcomes, yet the extent and nature of health promotion interventions addressing modifiable behavioural and social determinants remain poorly synthesised. This scoping review mapped smoking, nutrition, alcohol, physical exercise, and social and emotional wellbeing (SNAPS(o))-related perinatal health promotion programs delivered through Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), supplemented by relevant peer-reviewed evidence identified across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Canada, and the United States.

Alcohol screening in primary healthcare services, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, may encounter barriers. These include time constraints, competing health priorities and sensitivities about the topic. Digital tools like the Grog App, validated in population settings, offer potential opportunities to overcome these barriers.
