Taking a deep dive into resources for educators, FASD Hub Australia and Learning with FASD (www.learningwithfasd.org.au) team up to present some evidence-based tools and approaches for both the primary and secondary classroom. Recent Australian prevalence data on FASD suggests as many as 1 in 28, or a child in every classroom, may have or be at risk of FASD. Longitudinal studies show that young people with FASD who do not receive appropriate support have a higher risk of disrupted education, mental health issues, contact with the justice system, and substance use issues. FASD-informed teachers and educators are critical to the provision of early and appropriately tailored support for people with FASD in our communities.  Join us for a look at this high-demand topic.

Raja Mukherjee
Raja Mukherjee Consultant Psychiatrist, UK

In April, the FASD Hub Australia welcomes international guest Dr Raja Mukherjee.

Dr Mukherjee is an Adult Learning Disability Consultant Psychiatrist for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, with interest in the management of developmental disorders across the lifespan. In September 2009 he started the first NHS based specialist Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders behavioural clinic and since then has seen over 150 cases for specialist second opinion as a National referral service. Join the FASD Hub Chair, Distinguished Professor and Clinical Researcher Elizabeth Elliott in conversation with Dr Mukherjee about the intersection of FASD and autism/ADHD. This exciting webinar will cover both comorbidity of autism/ADHD with FASD and differential diagnosis. An event not to miss.

Note: This webinar may be rescheduled to 28 April. Please ensure you are available for both dates before registering.
