FASD experience and training

The Child and Youth Assessment and Treatment Service (CYATS) at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress commenced in April 2018. CYATS offers assessment and treatment to children suspected of FASD or other neurodevelopmental disorder. Children diagnosed with FASD are able to access speech and occupational therapy interventions from the CYATS team, post diagnosis. FASD data is provided to the Australian Paediatric Surveillance Unit (APSU) via our partnership with Alice Springs Hospital Paediatricians. CYATS clinicians and support staff have all attended local FASD professional development both in the past and throughout 2019.
